Meals IN HOMES: SUMMER 2026

LAUNCHING JUNE 7TH!

A Simple Way to Practice Hospitality This Summer

This summer, as we journey through our sermon series together, we want to create space for meaningful connection around tables, in living rooms, and through shared meals. “Meals in Homes” is a simple invitation to practice hospitality — not perfection. Whether you love hosting or feel nervous about opening your door, this initiative is designed to equip and encourage you. You do not need a perfectly clean house, a beautifully planned menu, or hosting experience. You simply need a willingness to make room for people.

Our hope is that this becomes more than a summer activity — that it helps shape us into a community that opens doors, shares tables, and makes room for others.

  • Throughout the summer, individuals, couples, and families are invited to host a meal in their home on a Sunday evening.

    Hosts are encouraged to invite:

    • One person or family they already know well
    • One person or family they would like to know better- we'd love to help you find this person or family! Let us know you are hosting and we can make recommendations! CLICK HERE to let us know!

    The goal is simple:

    • Share a meal
    • Build relationships
    • Practice hospitality
    • Create space for meaningful conversation and community
  • Before the Meal

    • Pray for the people coming
    • Keep the menu simple
    • Focus on connection over presentation
    • Remember: people are grateful to be invited

    What Should I Serve?

    Keep it easy and realistic:

    • Pizza and salad
    • Soup and bread
    • Burgers on the grill
    • Pasta
    • Breakfast-for-dinner
    • Potluck style
    • Charcuterie/snacks
    • Takeout is completely acceptable

People rarely remember the food perfectly. They remember how they felt in your home.

  • TABLE CONVERSATIONS CARDS a Practicing the Way free download CLICK HERE!

    • You could let people pick one out a bowl or put them under plates to take out when there is a lull in table conversation.

EVERY MOMENT HOLY by Doug McKelvey "Feasting with Friends" CLICK HERE!

    • This could be read before serving up food. It might be helpful to have multiple copies as there are different parts that guests read.

WHAT DO WE DO? You do not need to lead a Bible study or create a formal program. A great evening can simply include: Sharing a meal, Casual conversation, Laughter, Prayer together. If conversation stalls, try asking:

    • What has brought you joy lately?
    • What are you looking forward to this summer?
    • What has God been teaching you recently?
    • What is something people may not know about you?
